Lovely Creatures is an homage to the often-overlooked critters that make up the ecosystem of a vineyard. From regal praying mantises to butterflies and bees, these animals help to bring a distinctive balance to their liana-speckled habitats.

This last weekend my husbands family came into town to celebrate his Mom's 80th birthday. Family and wine go together so, off to Vino Mas we went. Chardonnay is America’s best selling white wine and one of the world’s most famous white-wine grapes. Chardonnay is grown all over the world, although its home is Burgundy, France. It also happens to be one of the most requested restaurant wines.

Many people are what I call an "ABC" drinker or "Anything But Chardonnay" wine drinker.  However, Chardonnay comes in different styles depending on how it is made: Oaked, partially oaked or un-oaked, was it fermented in only Steel tanks or concrete, does the wine go through Malolactic Fermentation or partial Malo, or made in a combination of fermentation methods?  Due to the differences in processing and wine making procedures, Chardonnay's can have very different tastes.  Keep an open mind if you are an ABC drinker and try different styles, who knows, you may find that you LIKE Chardonnay once you find the "right one".
